Hello, my name is Scott Cannon, and I am currently serving Poplar Spring as the minister of families and education. God has blessed my wife, Sonya, and me with three gracious gifts of daughters.  Faith is our oldest, who is five; Gracie is our middle daughter, who is almost four; and Kailey Hope is our youngest, who just turned three. Currently I am a student at Southeastern Baptist Seminary working toward the Master of Divinity degree. My family has had the privilege of being a part of the family of God at Poplar Spring for four years now. 

My family is blessed to be a part of such a great church family that is seeking to reach our world with the gospel of Jesus. Everything that we undertake to accomplish is done to give honor and glory to our great God and His Son Jesus Christ through whom we have been given LIFE! The purpose of the ministries we engage in at Poplar Spring is to make disciples of all nations. I have been called to be a servant of the Most High God to proclaim the gospel message of true hope in the savior of the world, Jesus, to all who will listen.  My heart’s desire and the focus of my ministry here at Poplar Spring Baptist Church is to see people become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
